A specialist mental health service in the capital has received a cash boost following a fundraising event held last month.
Staff, former service users, and supporters packed out the Ex-Serviceman’s Club in Leith to raise money for the vital mental health service.
The Edinburgh Crisis Centre is one of only a handful of mental health crisis centres in the UK. It provides a 24 hour helpline for people in the capital aged 16 years or over and a safe private space for people in distress to receive support, including overnight accommodation if required.
The event was organised by Centre staff with tickets costing £7. Items donated by local artists and businesses, the BBC, STV, and Michelin Star Chef Mark Greenaway were also auctioned off on the night.
Ticket sales, donations and the auction managed to raise almost £1300 for the service. The money raised will go towards maintaining and refurbishing the Centre.
