What is self directed support?

Self directed support is when you take more of an active role in organising your support. It means you have greater choice, creativity and flexibility to use support to live the life you want and do the things you want to do. When you self direct your support you have more control over the social care funds that are allocated to you. It means you can use a direct payment or individual budget to purchase things that help you meet your personal outcomes

"The scheme means that I have more control over my care plan instead of Social Work. This gives me more independence just like everyone else."
