fit150 – Glasgow Supported Living Service Team Challenge

As a team we were a little upset by the fact that the main lift broke down and was going to take 6 – 8 weeks to be repaired. Would you believe we are on the 6th floor in a Glasgow City Centre office? There are two entrances to our building one with 72 steps and one with 300 steps. So no matter which way we entered we encountered steps.

This brought about our fit150 Team Challenge where we all agreed to log our steps each time we entered and exited our Team Base. We thought as a team we could look up the world’s biggest building and how many steps it had and work out as a team how many times we climbed it.

Some of us were very adventurous and climbed the 300 steps each time. Some of us did a mixture of both depending on how fit we felt that day. Within the Team we did a whopping 25,000 steps over 8 weeks.  Each of us has improved our fitness levels and some of us are still opting for the stairs.

The worlds tallest building is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai with 3,000 steps. So as a team we climbed this building over 8 times. A more well known building, the Eiffel Tower, has 1,710 steps and we climbed this over 14 times.

Thanks everybody for taking part we must now be a Penumbra Super Fit Team and await our next Team fit150 Challenge.
