Penumbra's Fife Early Response Project

Funded by Choose Life Fife, Penumbra is about to establish and manage the development of an early response service to people 18+ who have been involved in a recent self harm incident with the aim of linking people with existing services and gathering information on the needs of this group to inform further planning in this field. The Project is expected to begin in February 2005.

Main Aims of the Project will be:

To develop and provide an early response service to people 18+ who have been involved in a self-harming incident based on:-
- Prompt telephone communication
- Within 72 hours- contact with people experiencing recent distress
To link people with existing appropriate services.
To gather information on needs of this group to inform future planning in this field.
To lead an advisory group of interested agencies.
To establish links with appropriate planning groups.
To report to the Fife Choose Life Group on a regular basis.
To liaise with other interested groups locally about the needs of this group.
